Every bike that appears on HarleyBids has been physically reviewed by our team. We inspect the title, confirm the odometer reading, photograph any damage, and note the key and documentation status before a single listing goes live. If we wouldn't be comfortable buying it ourselves, we won't list it.

Clean title bikes have never been written off by an insurance company. They are the most straightforward to register and insure in any state, and typically carry higher resale value. If you want a bike you can ride immediately and insure fully, a clean title lot is the right choice.
Salvage title bikes were declared a total loss by an insurer at some point. This does not mean the bike is unrideable — many salvage lots are repairable or fully repaired — but the title will permanently reflect the salvage history. Some states require a safety inspection to re-register a salvage bike, and some insurance companies will only offer liability coverage (not comprehensive).
Rebuilt/reconstructed title bikes were previously salvage, were repaired, and passed a state inspection. In many states they can be registered and insured fully. Check your state's DMV requirements before bidding on a rebuilt-title lot.
All bikes on HarleyBids are sold as-is. This is standard practice at any auction — it means we make no warranty about the condition of the bike beyond what is described in the listing. The listing is your due diligence package. Read it carefully.
We encourage all serious bidders to inspect the bike in person before placing a bid. Our Chicago location is open for viewings Monday through Saturday by appointment.
